I am not talking about going to the grocery store alone. I mean, when is the last time you did something that was good for your soul?!
Often, we deprive ourselves of social interaction away from those we see daily. Although, we may feel quilt, it is good to get out and away from your environment. Life is busy, and we get carried away with our day to day routines. We forget to take time for ourselves, we hold our feelings in and let the stresses of family life or work occupy our time. It is so vital to take a break, to get out, talk to a friend, to just let loose. It is a breath of fresh air for your soul. When you don’t allow yourself to decompress, you are holding yourself back from being the best version of you!
If your daily routine requires you to always be dressed up, it can be nice to get in comfy clothes and go do something that allows you to relax. If you can’t remember the last time you wore heels or dressed up for anything besides a family function, it may be time to get dolled up and paint the town for a night.
Even something as small as grabbing a cup of coffee and chatting with a friend can renew your spirit. Whatever it is you need to make time to do it, at least once a month. It is crazy how much better I feel after talking to another mom about the things I go through on a day to day basis. Turns out, I am not the only mom who must explain why we need to shower, wash our hands or pick up after ourselves… every. Single. Day. Or the only stay at home mom who sometimes feel frumpy.
Everyone needs an outlet, a chance to talk to others who can relate to you, an opportunity to step away from your daily routine and allow yourself to just be you and free of distractions or responsibilities. I think we get comfortable with how our lives our (the good and the bad) that we forget we have a choice. We know what our soul needs and we have the power to make it happen. Make yourself a priority and see the difference it makes!
